Testimonial from Ted Fort OBE *****
I first met Hazel Morgan at a reception given by Princess Anne at Buckingham Palace. There was something about this lady that inspired me and in talking to her I found out she was a portrait painter.
This lady is highly talented and I liked the composition of our portraits, Susan and her dogs and me and my sailing and engineering career.
In my opinion I have a very good eye for art and the painting she has completed is outstanding.

Hazel says: Ted is a member of the Royal Thames Yacht Club, and very keen racer of his own ‘Dragon’ yacht. As a result, I created two paintings in one by featuring his boat in the background from a photograph he had given me. I have also painted his lovely wife, Susan, at their estate. They are both great fun and have a huge love of life.

My husband suggested I have a portrait done to celebrate my 40th Birthday. I was very reluctant to sit for a portrait originally. It seemed a little self indulgent and self obsessed! However Hazel’s ability to relax me and create a playful fun environment made a big difference. The sittings became more like personal coaching sessions. In the tranquillity of the space Hazel creates we were able to have some fantastic chats interspersed with large amounts of laughing.
Hazel was always very open about what she was doing so I was able to watch the progress of the portrait and pass on comments and observations which Hazel always took on board.
The final result is timeless and will always be treasured by me, my children and hopefully generations to come.
Having a portrait done of this quality is a real investment in a precious family heir loom. Hazel manages to capture the soul of the person she has chosen to paint, as it is very much a two way process.
When my husband saw the finished master piece he became emotional and it literally brought a tear to his eye (my husband is not the emotional type!).
I would recommend Hazel to anyone.

My wife Sally is the niece of Malcolm Muggeridge – a man whose portrait was painted very many times by various artists so I had been able to form a pretty good idea of what I liked in portraiture – and also what I disliked.
Hazel’s art attracted me because she clearly manages to capture much of the character of her subjects, as well as recording a quite unmistakeable likeness. Ultimately a good portrait leaves the essence of its subject with you, even when the person is somewhere else. Sally’s portrait will no doubt become a much treasured family heirloom.
